In the north of Armenia, in Lori Province, lies a place that feels almost a little surreal: the Sunrise Gorge. Dense forests, lush greenery, a pleasantly mild microclimate, and steep cliffs rising directly from the river have earned the region the nickname “the Thailand of Armenia.”
To be honest, it was an influencer who coined the term. But whatever the story behind it, for us this place is a perfect example of what makes Armenia so special: within a small area, landscapes, climates, and atmospheres constantly change – and around every bend, there is another surprise waiting.
