Yamchun

High above the Wakhan Valley in the Pamirs lies the impressive Yamchun Fortress, a relic from the 3rd century BC. With its spectacular view over the entire valley, it once served to control the corridor during the times of the ancient Silk Road. A little higher up, just a few kilometers away, bubble the hot springs of Bibi Fatima. Known for their special healing powers, they are also called the “fertility springs.” To experience them fully, however, you’ll have to climb into the small grotto—some acrobatics required!
