title
  • Location: Uzbekistan

The Zaamin National Park, also known as Zomin, is the oldest nature reserve in Uzbekistan and was established in 1926 as the Guralash Nature Reserve. It covers 156 km² in the Jizzakh province and is located on the northern side of the Turkestan Range. Due to its lush landscape, it is often referred to as the "Switzerland of Uzbekistan." The park is home to over 700 plant species, including 30 medicinal herbs, as well as 40 mammal and 150 bird species, including rare and endangered species such as the snow leopard and the black stork.

The park is also well known in Uzbekistan for its large sanatorium, which was built during the Soviet era and, after extensive renovations, is still in operation. Our cycling and cultural tour begins here in the park at the foot of the mountains.
