13-day motorcycle trip through Kyrgyzstan

Arrival in the morning, transfer to the hotel. After sleeping in until noon, we enjoy a late breakfast. In the afternoon, we explore the bazaar and the center of Bishkek on a city tour. We end the day with traditional cuisine at a joint dinner.

After breakfast, you will first receive a detailed safety briefing. Once you are familiar with the KTM 690R, we will embark on the adventure! Leaving the capital behind us through the Chui Valley, we will continue over the 3,180-meter-high Töö Ashu Pass into the high mountain valley of Suusamyr. From now on, it's all about gravel! On unpaved roads, we will reach the colorful Kokemeren Gorge in the afternoon. We will end the first day of this adventure in a cozy guesthouse.

After breakfast at the guesthouse, we continue through the impressive Kokomeren Gorge. The gravel road leads over the Karakeche Pass (3,384 m) to Son Kul Lake at 3,000 m. There we experience the spectacular nature, nomadic life, and those who wish can ride here. We park our bikes at the yurts – an unforgettable overnight stay!

Today we are expecting one of the most spectacular stages. We will cross the 3,346 m high Moldo Pass before descending into the valley via serpentine roads. Towards Mels Pass (3,420 m), the landscape transforms into wide steppes and canyons. In Tash Rabat, we will settle into yurts and end the day relaxed in the warm Banja.

Before we leave the valley, we will visit Tash Rabat, an impressively well-preserved caravanserai from the 15th century. It is one of the few surviving structures from the Silk Road era in Kyrgyzstan and is a true highlight of the region.

Afterwards, we drive east towards Kol Suu. The road leads near the Chinese border, which is why we also need a permit to be allowed to drive here.

The Kol-Suu Lake, located at 3,514 meters, embedded in the spectacular mountains of the Tian-Shan range, invites you this morning to an extensive horseback ride to the lakeshore – no riding experience is required. Prefer to travel on two wheels? No problem! Alternatively, you can ride a motorcycle close to the lake and tackle the final ascent on foot.

After this unforgettable experience, we continue our journey in the afternoon and reach the city of Naryn. There, we enjoy the comfort of a cozy hotel after the past nights in nature and end the day with a relaxed dinner in a good restaurant.

Today we enjoy a day of rest and leave the motorcycles behind. Our hotel offers all the amenities a good hotel should have, including laundry service, breakfast buffet until 10 AM, and a beautiful outdoor area. For lunch, we will be served Kyrgyz folklore music and then have a private lunch with a Kyrgyz family.  In the afternoon, we will explore the bazaar and the city together.

After we refueled the motorcycles in Naryn and loaded supplies onto the support vehicle, we set off on another exciting leg.

On this day, the route takes us over fantastic gravel roads up to the high pastures, where numerous nomads with their herds can still be found. On the 140-kilometer journey there, we can expect three impressive highlights: the confluence of the Little and Big Naryn, the spectacular Kapchygay Gorge, and the vast high pastures along the Bolgart River.

We spend the night at an altitude of 3,000 meters in a camp set up just for us and end the day by the warming campfire.

The route from the camp leads over 35 kilometers back along a parallel path through the high pastures – yurts, herds of livestock, and vastness characterize the image of this route. "The little Mongolia" is our internal designation for this area. Over the Dschalpak Bel Pass (3,320 m), we travel through the Kara Kuzhur Valley a total of 130 kilometers on gravel and meadow paths, before we reach the paved road to Kotschkor in Sary Bulak, where we cover the last 40 kilometers. At the guesthouse on the outskirts of Kochkor, we will be served delicious, typical Kyrgyz cuisine.

The drive to Issyk Kul, the second largest mountain lake in the world, takes us almost entirely on gravel and meadow paths through untouched nature and remote villages. In the morning, we reach the Semiz Bel Pass (2,720 m) after about 30 kilometers, and after another 40 kilometers, we arrive at the Ala Bash Pass, which is 2,360 m high. In the afternoon, the route leads through the agriculturally shaped Ala Bash Valley. At the foot of glacier-covered mountains, it is particularly fertile and offers us breathtaking trails. In the afternoon, we reach Bel-Tam, an idyllic yurt camp right on the shore of the lake, where we can relax and unwind at the end of the day.

On the last day of our motorcycle tour, we enjoy great routes off the main road one more time in the morning. After that, we head back to Bishkek, as far as possible via side roads. On the way, we visit the Orto Tokoy water reservoir and the Silk Road minaret in Burana. In Bishkek, we toast and reflect on the journey over a hearty dinner.

Today we will let the journey come to a relaxed end. We can decide whether to take a hike in Ala Archa National Park, go for a stroll in the city for last-minute souvenir shopping, or simply relax. Our hotel offers a spa area with a sauna, pool, and massage services. In the evening, we will once again enjoy the excellent culinary offerings in Bishkek before heading home early in the morning with unforgettable impressions.

Transfer to the airport, return flight home.
